Our goal in designing the Grit SX was to create a gravel bike that is ‘more’ in every area. Better handling, more clearance, easier service, more versatility, more fun. The Grit SX is a complete overhaul of its predecessor with a raft of new features and reworked geometry. We have loaded the SX with everything that we'd want from a gravel/adventure bike in a package that is both tighter and more focused than the original Grit. Is it more road or off-road? The answer is ‘both’.

The front end has been completely reworked. At the heart of those changes is the fork’s new ‘flip chip’, allowing riders to choose between road and off-road handling. In the 52mm setting, trail is reduced which quickens the handling creating a more responsive ride for the road. Flipping to the 47mm setting increases the trail resulting in more stability and wheel flop helping riders navigate tight and technical terrain. Shorter chainstays mean more direct drive and a shorter wheelbase which keeps the package feeling tight and responsive. The headtube has been lowered for a slightly more aggressive stance, balancing more weight on the bars for more feel and control. Tyre clearance is now up to a whopping 700x50c (2.2” 650b) and chainring clearance up to 1x46T. This increased clearance, and shorter chain stays, are made possible by our new fully internal routed 6-axis CNC yoke. This yoke is the cornerstone of the rear triangle redesign, an elegant solution to a complex problem where multiple components are competing for limited space.

The SX now features our fully internal routed T47 bottom bracket. T47 combines the efficiency of larger bearings with maintenance friendly threads and compatibility with all axle diameters. We’ve added a 3rd bidon mount on the underside of the down tube and an adjustable bidon position on the seat tube to accommodate 1L bottles – a helpful inclusion for any bikepacking excursion. The new fork now features fully recessed rack bolts for a cleaner profile, internal cable routing for dynamo hubs, and clearance for fenders – all the bikepacking bells and whistles. We don’t believe there is ‘one bike to do it all’ but the Grit SX sure comes close. A durable and engaging gravel bike, a spirited and comfortable road bike, a versatile and dependable tourer.
